Shreveport Family Fun at a Working Farm-Papa Simpson's! $10 per person (including parents)

**There is no need to print tickets; simply select the number needed so that we can effectively plan for our family fun! We use this site for reservations only. Admission fees that apply will be collected at the event.

LAVCA families and school staff will enjoy a November Outing at Papa Simpson's Farm in Arcadia! The first stop will be an old fashioned General Store. This store is located in the historical house of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Simpson, the second generation of farmers on this land. Next, you will hay ride to the farm animal petting area, crop section, animal section and aquaculture section. During this time students will participate in milking a dairy cow, feeding baby calves, holding baby animals, feeding adult animals, and planting and harvesting crops. Following the fun, pack a picnic lunch and enjoy it at one of the tables under the shade trees.

Students, siblings, and family members are welcomed to attend! Parents are expected to remain with students at all times.

• Under 2 years old free

What to bring:

Yourselves and a picnic lunch to enjoy under the shade trees; or at least a few cool drinks and a snack! If you are bringing little ones, a stroller is also a good idea. All will also need signed releases for our school. They will be kmailed out prior to the event and both pages should be completed and brought to the event to save time when you arrive. Even if you've completed these before, please bring them again. It's the simplest way for us to keep it organized!

All LAVCA outings are optional for our families. By participating in LAVCA outings, students and families are agreeing to abide by LAVCA's guidelines in the Student-Parent Handbook:

Louisiana Virtual Charter Academy will sponsor optional outings for students and families on a regular basis that enhance the K12 curriculum/learning activities. While attendance is not mandatory, it is an opportunity to meet other school participants, have conversations, share practices that work and provide academic enrichment. While credit for student outings is not offered in lieu of the regular curriculum, time can be counted as supplemental activities hours within the Online School.
Parents are responsible for the cost of transportation and any entrance fees associated with optional outings.
LAVCA parents and students are expected to conduct themselves appropriately at all optional student outings. Parents/guardians are responsible for the supervision of their children at all times.
